i'm offended you didn't like my closet tumblr cosplay.

Bitch said somethin’ to make me mad. She said somethin’ that I couldn’t believe, so I grabbed the stupid bitch by her nappy-ass weave. The one I purchased for her.

#obviously because they might shed their outer shell and reveal their true form as an ancient insectoid alien and devour them of course

I’m all over my English homework and thinking “wow, I’m not going to finish my homework until like 11 or 12.”

But then I remembered that I’m probably going to be up until 2:30 anyways, so I’m not even fucking worried anymore.

Sometimes I wonder

why it is that if people watch BBC Sherlock and Dr. Who, why no one I know has ever mentioned how fucking awesome Red Dwarf is.

Then again, if we worshipped Godin, there would instead be bickering on how to pronounce his name.

Is it Goe-din or Gaw-din?

Praise to Godin that Homestuck fans don’t take up this religion.

Why not worship God and Odin as the same individual?

Hey Homestucks, cosplayers, and zentai enthusiasts!

So I’m looking for a zentai (sometimes called a morphsuit) for potential carapace cosplay (specifically Diamonds Droog, in case anyone knows where to get that slick-ass coat), black, possibly metallic/shiny but that’s not necessary. But I’ve never bought a zentai before, and I’m hesitant to buy from any online sites without feedback from others, and I don’t want to throw down 50-80 dollars on something that might fall apart after a few uses. (really, I’d prefer not to throw down 50-80 dollars at all, 20-40 would be ideal but if that’s not an option I guess I’ll start saving)

So yeah! Recommendations for sites to look at, fabric choices, etc. would be awesome.

On another note, specifically directed to cosplayers or people who have done carapace cosplay before: How would one go about adding features to a zentai suit? I’ve seen eyes painted in white—which looks all right but not great, and I’m not sure how much that would compromise visibility—and felt eyes attached, which looked better but I’m not sure how easy it would be to sew/glue on. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Okay so
I have done a Droog cosplay.

Here’s an example on how it turned out:

What I did for the eyes allowed me to be able to use the Zentai suit for other cosplays I may want to do.
I just got those white stickers that are rectangles, usually found at wal-mart, and cut them into eye shapes. If it’s a cold or windy day you may want to make a few pairs of them because god damn. As for the suit, I painted the buttons, and a friend of mine helped me sew on the white fabric.

As for the Zentai suit itself, I can’t help you much. I got it from a site where it was on sale for 14 dollars, but I got lucky. apparently that store is reeealllyyy bad to their costumers and I just happened to get a good suit.

Hope this helps! -snails

DANG, THAT IS REALLY GOOD *_______* I was actually thinking about using white electrical tape but I wasn’t sure if it would stick properly. But if this worked for you, I might go with that! Assuming I get the same kind of fabric, I guess. Do you know what yours is made of?

Hmmm…I will check.

Here’s your answer!: lycra spandex is what it is made out of, from what the site says.
And for you I believe suits will be easy to find. Go to a party store, or a sports attire store…They usually have some pretty cool suits, and green is quite the item! ( I was reading your tag, eheheh ) If you want help finding a green suit though, one of my friends went as Crowbar to some cons, he knows where to get the items needed. :)

Here’s his cosplay and Tumblr:

As for a cuestick, if you need one, you can go to wal-mart too! I got mine for 7 dollars :D

So yeah! any more questions?

Hey, that’s me!

It reminded me of the Korpiklaani concert I went to in December. Now, how I got my mind onto this subject was because I was evaluating myself to see if I might be a folk metal elitist. Thankfully, though I have a lot of knowledge and obsession with folk metal music, I don’t really think I could be…

I’d think it’s a similar feeling to going to, say, an Amon Amarth concert and realizing that 99% of the people there only know their song “Twilight of the Thunder God” because they found out that Roope Latvala from Children of Bodom plays on that song and they really only came to the concert to see Children of Bodom? I think this kind of thing happens to most of us, actually, outside of folk and melodic death metal.

Indeed, and it’s kind of a bummer at first. Because, for me at least, I want more people to know of more awesome music, instead of just one or two things from a band. I feel like they’re missing out. But I know a lot of people get into the you’re-not-a-real-fan syndrome, which is kinda…. Community-defeating. How are more people going to enjoy awesome stuff if other fans are making them feel like they’re not good enough?

Though it makes me wonder, especially in your example with Amon Amarth, if they like that one song so much, why didn’t they listen to more songs by Amon Amarth?

I just want to share awesome stuff with the world DX

Well the example itself held no real life resemblance to anything that has happened to me.  I’ve not even seen them live yet. I was jut throwing it out there as that seems like the most likely example.

Luckily, though, I’ve shared some of my metal music with some of my non-metal specific friends who have enjoyed them. Ensiferum being a big hit with them! And TesseracT. I also had my sister listen to Vintersorg, Opeth, Alcest, and Fair to Midland and they were all pretty good with her.

I think it’s just a lot more satisfying to have people who’ve never listened to your own music get into it than have people around that you KNOW would enjoy your music but just don’t get into it.
